About Proton Clinic
PROTON CLINIC was established in the year 2006 by Dr. Dipak Shah, consultant physician and endoscopist for the purpose of providing a centralised place for the treatment of various acute and chronic conditions pertaining to the field of gastroenterology and hepatology. It was established at the present address after obtaining necessary licences and permissions from the Kolkata municipal corporation and the Ministry of Health and Family welfare Department, West Bengal. The licences are renewed in the requisite time every year and we are proud to have spent 18 years giving compassionate health care at affordable prices to the people.
Dr. Dipak Shah started an independent practice in the field of gastroenterology and hepatology from 2001 practicing at various centers and polyclinics. Gradually he felt the need for a centralized place where people are provided all facilities under one roof. With an intrinsic zeal to excel and innovate and to develop the ability to ccommunicate actively and accurately with patients while upholding highest standards of personal and professional ethics, the centre was established as a Physician chamber and Endoscopy clinic in 2006. The clinic was established with an objective to provide treatment to the people utilising extensive knowledge and skill in diagnosis and treatment while providing humanistic qualities of integrity, sensitivity, empathy and compassion.
The centre deals with providing specialized care in managing patients suffering from peptic ulcer, oesophageal reflux disease, irritable bowel syndrome, functional bowel diseases, gastrointestinal malignancies and inflammatory bowel diseases apart from chronic constipation and dyspepsia. It also deals with all kinds of hepatobiliary problems dealing with viral hepatitis, acute and chronic liver diseases, pancreatic issues and biliary diseases. The centre also provided endoscopy services regularly to the patients taking utmost care adhering to the standard practice of disinfection and sterilization.
As the confidence of patients grew in Proton Clinic, a desire to give back something to the society fuelled the ambitious path of providing help to the patients belonging to the lower strata of the society. This led to the concept of FREE LIVER CAMP, the first of which was held in 2016. It provided diagnostic and consultation services to the people suffering from liver diseases free of cost. We are proud of having catered to about 100 patients each in every such camp held every year till now. We do intend to continue presenting our humane face and selfless service to the people through this camp once every year.
The clinic now also provides services like blood tests, Fibroscan of Liver and Hydrogen breath tests apart from consultation and endoscopy services. We do intend to add more services gradually at an affordable rate for the general wellbeing of the society.
